	Overview

	Previoulsy known as (MSR Router Configuration and deployment) In this four-day course, students will complete hands-on activities that implement basic and advanced configurations of HP MSR Series routers. The key products discussed are the HP MSR Series Routers. Topics include: features of the HP MSR Series router families, architecture of the MSR Series products, upgrading, configuring, monitoring and troubleshooting HP MSR Series routers,and differences between the Router 5000 or 6000 families and the MSR Series routers in terms of features, functionality and implementation. Audience

•	Network and System Administrators.

Prerequisites

•	Basic fundamental LAN/WAN networking knowledge.

•	Theoretical knowledge of the following WAN protocols and services:- Routing and Switching Fundamentals, PPP, Frame Relay and Frame Relay Switching, RIP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, IPSec, PIM-DM and PIM-SM, Qos.

•	Completion of the following required 3Com Global Education and Training self-paced online courses:- WAN Technology Training Series, Frame Relay, OSPF_Ch1, Security, Multicasting, Quality_of_Service, BGP_Ch_1, MPLS_Ch_1.

Key topics

Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to implement, configure and monitor the following key protocols and services:-

•	Open Shortest Path First (OSPF).

•	Protocol-Independent Multicast Dense Mode (PIM-DM) and Sparse Mode (PIM-SM).

•	Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) .

•	IPoA (IP over ATM) .

•	Troubleshooting.

•	Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP), Frame Relay and Frame Relay switching.

•

IPSec.

•	Quality of service (QoS) .

•	Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) .

•	ISDN dialer backup .
