Overview

This 5-day course equips students with the skills and knowledge to configure the management and monitoring capabilities of HP Systems Insight Manager. Students will spend the majority of the time learning to use HP Systems Insight Manager (HP SIM) for managing systems and performing collections, along with inventory and fault management. The course will also cover the integration of various options within HP Insight Control suite for performance, patch management and HP BladeSystem management. Lab exercises for the course will be done with remote equipment using the HP Virtual Lab.

Audience

Administrators, engineers and consultants who will:
•Plan and manage the deployment of the HP Systems Insight Manager and HP Insight Control suite components
•Monitor and Manage network systems with HP Systems Insight Manager

Prerequisites

Insight Control Environment Foundation HE643S
Familiarity with general networking terminology and basic network security concepts
An understanding of one of the following operating systems:
•Microsoft Windows 2000, 2000 advanced, 2003 Standard, 2003 Enterprise Edition or Windows XP
•RedHat Enterprise Linux AS or RedHat Enterprise Linux ES
•SuSE Linux Enterprise Server
